To celebrate World Book Day 2011, Knucklas Castle Mound has been chosen to launch the first of a newly published picture book series for children. The book features many illustrations based on local Teme Valley scenes, a map of mole and rabbit underground tunnels and an illustration of Jack and Jill climbing up a hill that will look familiar to many in the area.
The climb to the summit of Knucklas Castle mound has always been steep on the South side but soon, following support from the Better Woodlands for Wales (Forestry Commission) Scheme, every Jack and Jill will be able to climb this hill on a purpose built zig-zag footpath.
The book launch is one of a series of events to highlight this new path and yes, there WILL be a topping-off celebration when the final step is in place.
