KNUCKLAS CASTLE

Sited at the confluence of the Teme and Heyope valleys in Radnorshire, Knucklas Castle overlooks Shropshire's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Offa's Dyke and the River Teme, the border between Wales and England

A fortification from pre-history, the remains of a 12th Century Mortimer castle, (yet to be surveyed), are steeped in the myths of Queen Guineviere and Arthur.

A CADW scheduled monument, the 21 acre site has been bought by some philanthropic locals who are leasing it to The Knucklas Castle Community Land Trust, who must raise money to buy the site through the sales of shares and donations.

This Transition Project encompasses Archaeology and Local History, Nature Conservation, Education, Allotments, a Community Orchard and a new Village Green.

Please join us in building a positive future.
